Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Torea natural process Gr.1

TIP: You can save products to your favorites list if you log in We've all heard the moniker “high-grown" coffee, but this natural process Yirgacheffe from the Torea Station is worth dubbing “celestial”. Indigenous heirloom cultivars, prepped to the highest Grade 1, hail from almost unheard-of 2250-2500 meters above sea level. The Torea Station is a ways up and beyond the vaunted Idido Mill (formely “Misty Valley” of famed Ethiopian coffee mogul Abdullah Bagersh. Great bona fides and a great coffee for sure, in the fruit bomb category with high tones of wild strawberries, apricot, melon and hibiscus. We have been digging our natural Yirg Aricha for a time but as stocks run low, replacements must be found, and this Torea is a worthy one. First run at a light roast proved amazingly aromatic but a tad more acidic than we wanted so we cranked it up a notch for a light/medium profile. Dreamy and creamy in a Hario V60 and we suspect drip preparations tell the whole story. Espresso for the adventurous!
