NOTE: All of our premium Arabica coffees are roasted to City+ to Full City roasts, showing minimal-to-no surface oils….we want all of the flavor to stay in the beans until the coffee is ground! Despite the additional descriptors, the first flavor and aroma you'll think of is "COFFEE".

Keffa Coffee is a Baltimore-based importer run by Ethiopia native Samuel Demisse, a savvy gent who is a licensed Q-grader and world class cupper who grew up in Agaro around coffee. His personal selections represent the highest expression of Ethiopian coffees from several regions, notably Sidama, Yirgacheffe and Harrar. Last year we were fortunate to procure his “Ch-ire” and Gutiti” and are currently offering three more exceptional coffees: washed Sidama Guji Grade 1, washed Limu-Gera Grade ! and natural process Sidama “Ardi” .
“Ardi” natural (dry) process was named after the oldest-known humanoid skeleton, dating back 4.4 million years, found in 1994 in the Awash River in Ethiopia. Heirloom (Ethiopia being the birthplace of coffee as well as humanity!) varietals picked around the Sidama town of Kilenso Moconissa are hand-picked by Samuel's special team and dried on raised beds in the sun for three weeks. Additional sorting, for which women are directly paid a special premium, ensures a uniformity rarely found in natural process selections. This coffee evinces strong strawberry, cherry and floral overtones and a round sweetness. We recommend it especially as a pourover using about 2-3 tablespoons of whole beans.

"Not having Badbeard coffee at home for the past several weeks and now having it helped me realize something. Justin Kagan is a true coffee roasting genius. Damn."
