NOTE: All of our premium Arabica coffees are roasted to City+ to Full City roasts, showing minimal-to-no surface oils….we want all of the flavor to stay in the beans until the coffee is ground! Despite the additional descriptors, the first flavor and aroma you'll think of is "COFFEE".

We're rolling out the red carpet for the first natural (dry-) process Harar we've liked in years, post-Ethiopia Coffee Exchange (ECX). While not estate-specific,this blend of indigenous varietals presents strong notes of cherry, blueberry and vanilla depending on the preparation, and drip/Clever is recommended. Royal Coffee, one of our pretigious and savvy importers, was more excited by this crop than many before it, and we agree. The fruit character is intense, befitting this mostly-wild grown and minimally processed iteration of the famous Longberry varietal. The cherry is picked super-ripe and, as has been going on for hundreds of years, mashed (with a long pestle)and laid out for careful drying. In good years the Harar coffees are the most esteemed in all of Ethiopia, the "sovereign" of African producers.
Makes a heady straight espresso shot and French press as well!

"Dipping one's nose into the bag of Ethiopia Sidamo Amaro Gayo reveals intense blueberries and woodsy aromas...freshly ground the bouquet is like a blueberry bomb, and in the cup its very nearly overwhelming...a heady commingling of earthy, woody fruits and bright florals poking through. Velvety in the mouth with a lingering finish of honey, cedar and fruit...an unforgettable experience...bravo!"
