NOTE: All of our premium Arabica coffees are roasted to City+ to Full City roasts, showing minimal-to-no surface oils….we want all of the flavor to stay in the beans until the coffee is ground! Despite the additional descriptors, the first flavor and aroma you'll think of is "COFFEE".

Despite its massive and industrial-scale coffee production , some of the best coffees from Brazil hail from smaller producers and protected designation of growing (PDO) areas like Mantiqueira de Minas in the state of Minas Gerais. Gems like our Mantiqueira Pulped Natural come from a broad spectrum of producers…some 9,000 comprising a region of 25 municipalities…”collectivized” to produce what elsewhere are considered “community coffees”. We have in the past been big fans of the native Mundo Novo varietal as a single origin espresso and as a base for our Mondocello, and this coffee, grown at (relatively high for Brazil) 1150 meters. It is processed using the pulped natural method wherein the ripe cherry is partially disk-pulped and then dried in the sun on raised beds, which bring along both fruity and sweet base notes to the medium-roasted coffee. Nutty and chocolatey, it also evinces good malic acid traits like green apple and Concord Grape.

Just in and must-try is Yirgacheffe Koke washing station, from a very high and sinuously-sloped area which ...more
