NOTE: All of our premium Arabica coffees are roasted to City+ to Full City roasts, showing minimal-to-no surface oils….we want all of the flavor to stay in the beans until the coffee is ground! Despite the additional descriptors, the first flavor and aroma you'll think of is "COFFEE".

Tolima coffee is grown in 38 municipalities, with more than 61,538 families growing 108,141 hectares of Arabica coffee of the Castillo, Colombia, Caturra, Bourbon and Tabí varieties. Smallholder production focuses on attributes like aromatics and fragrance, balance and chocolatiness.
Unlike its adjacent powerhouse producing Departments like Caldas, Cundinamarca, Huila and Valle de Cauca, Tolima's coffee industry
has been shrinking in size owing to greater industrialization. The mountainous terrain and spotty infrastructure make coffee cultivation challenging yet it still produces 10-12% of Colombia's overall total. Asociación De Agricultores y Productores De Café Especial De Montalvo Agprocem is a group established on
October 10, 2013 by Mr. Edinson Vaquiro Mendoza and Mr. Israel Montes with the objective of improving the commercialization of coffee, caring for the environment, improving the living conditions of each of the associates. The association gathers 58 small coffee growers that got together to improve the quality of the coffee produced in the región.
"Community lots" like El Tucan are standaouts on the cupping table. Comprising Castillo and Caturra varietals grown at high elevation (1800 meters), El Tucan makes for a rich, velvety espresso in a darker roast (please specify when ordering) and in our standard light-medium roast provide expect notes of orange and other fruits, chocolate, and sugar cane sweetness.

"Sumatra Triple Pick Lintong There's a swamp mud jungle funk going on here. Aromatically, Doctor Livingston's cherries have fallen out of his knapsack and lie among the moldering leaves, next to a bog. An Irish peat bog. Lightly singed. In Sumatra. Go figure. That smoky peat-water thing carries to the body - ROBUST I believe is the word. Sweet, voluptuous presentation quickly yields to the gripping, chunky tannins wrapped in licorice that dominate the midpalate. Longgggg finish spiked with orange rind, cardamon, wood shavings, and leaf mould. This is potent stuff. Diane can't drink it. (She loved the Etheopian Mothership.) My inner orangutan, however, loves it. "
