NOTE: All of our premium Arabica coffees are roasted to City+ to Full City roasts, showing minimal-to-no surface oils….we want all of the flavor to stay in the beans until the coffee is ground! Despite the additional descriptors, the first flavor and aroma you'll think of is "COFFEE".

Throughout the coffee-producing world, indigenous peoples are front and center and most often the unsung heroes of the any enterprise. Colombia is no exception, and we're happily presenting a lovely, very high-grown (2100-2200 meters) washed
coffee from Aponte Reservation. Inga Aponte is an indigenous reservation and community located in San Juan de Pasto, some 4 hours from the Capitol of the Nariño department. While casting about for a replacement for our recently-offered Don Enrique Riserva, this proved to be a standout on the cupping table.
The Ingas, as they are named, are descendents of the Incas and have been "established" since the 18th century. Proud of their culture and heritage, they are among the most prosperous native communities in Colombia. Owing to their proximity to the Amazonas forest, they maintain an active exchange with other native tribes in the neighboring Putumayo department that live in the highly dense jungle.
This offering is of the Caturra varietal, fully washed process and sun-dried. A delightful, vibrant cup full of surprises with notes of bright citric acidity, caramel, floral, juicy body, lemon, prolonged residual and vanilla bean. Pourover recommended with a light-medium roast profile to accentuate the natural fruitiness.
