NOTE: All of our premium Arabica coffees are roasted to City+ to Full City roasts, showing minimal-to-no surface oils….we want all of the flavor to stay in the beans until the coffee is ground! Despite the additional descriptors, the first flavor and aroma you'll think of is "COFFEE".

Organic Java Taman Dadar

Country of Origin: Java
Organic Java Taman Dadar

A special offering from importer Royal Coffee and an independent (from the Indonesian government, which controls the vast bulk of production in Java) producer group in the Ijen Plateau in Eastern Java.
Taman Dadar translates roughly to "flower garden" in the native tongue, appropriately enough, as the farmers eschew typical Government Plantation monoculture and intersperse Erythrina, Albizia and Leucaena trees for shade and as a source of food for their livestock, which provide natural fertilizer.
Taman Dadar coffee is processed using the “wet-hulled” method, which removes the outer skin of the red cherries with a pulping machine. The mucilage-covered parchment is then put into fermentation tanks for 24 – 36 hours. After washing, the clean parchment is sun-dried on bamboo mats for about 8 hours. At this stage, the exporter will buy the wet parchment and hull it before a final drying. the results are spectacularly clean, full-bodied coffee, bursting with rich, spicy and floral overtones.

Tomorrow 5/30/13 welcoming Rwanda Gitesi washing station excellence! A limited offering of an exceptional coffee from Rwanda, bringing back memories of the Rwabisindu we had a couple of years ago. This joe is a rock star...like our Kenya Ruera Estate, smack-in-the-face citrus notes yet intrinsically sweet.

Unique S.O. Brazil espresso in house today! Welcome mat rolled out today for the biodynamically-produced, organic certified Fazenda Floresta from Bahia State in Northeastern Brazil. Doesn't get much better for single origin espresso cravers.

And the juicy Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Blue Nile back in stock, fresh crop just off the boat, ...more
checking the roast
Five more seconds until roasting perfection!
"As far as the coffee(s) the Cerro de Las Ranas is amazing! You are hitting that spot on! It is juicy/full and sweet like hard candy caramel. I like that the roast leaves a bit of brightness/acidity. For me perfect. The Dara Kebada is intense! The roast profile you choose leave so much of the dried fruit in it that it is wild. Fruit cake meets Good n Plenty! I'm sure all drinkers find it very unique."
