Have been champing at the bit waiting to get this fabulous coffee...Lintong Blue Batak, aged over 2 years (originally harvested and processed September-October 2016). Very rich and complex, very different from out more-traditional Organic Takengon Mandheling KKGO. I was super-stoked after trying the importer's sample and finally it is arriving tomorrow, April 2. A real treat!

We often take in tiny lots for assay here in the "lab", and like mad scientists put them through the paces for unusual notes they might yield. Calling it "Boutique" not for pretense but because we might have as few as a few pounds of it or as many as 50...and they will run out quickly. As a test case this month's offering is an exceptional and rare natural process coffee from Burundi. List has expanded in March 2019 to include gems from Brazil (special process Natural), and washed Peru. Guaranteed to entice the senses!

Stoked to be participating in this annual event highlighting NW beer and coffee producers! Rocking with superb Pono Brewing's Larry Clouser and my favorite sudsmacher John Lovegrove, who got me on this synergistic journey 4 years ago at the Baker's Dozen Coffee beers/beer/donuts/coffee event in Portland. Representing (there will be 20 entries) with Pono's excellent Pineapple Express and calling it...what else...Pineapple Expresso! Two very fine Kenyas, cold brewed. Can drink it all day and just might....
When: Saturday, January 26th, 12:00pm to 7:00pm
Where: Goose Hollow Inn, 1927 SW Jefferson St, Portland, OR 97201
Tickets: Available at the door only. $20 entrance fee includes festival glass and 10 tickets. Credit cards accepted.

...from METAD Agricultural Development PLC. METAD is a third-generation family owned business with a rich history that began after World War II when the Ethiopian Emperor awarded Muluemebet Emiru, the first African female pilot and family matriarch, with land in the Guji and Sidama zones that has become the Hambela Coffee Estate. Our picks are super-tasty...Organic Gedeb Gotiti natural process (a fave in lighter roaster for drip/pourover...darker for espresso lovers, please specify when ordering in the Notes section at checkout) and Guji Hambela washed. Primo Ethio!
