Badbeard Bandit Nabbed!

by Bean 28. March 2014 05:49

He robbed eight banks in Northern and Central California from November to February this year, but the "Badbeard Bandit" was finally nabbed by the FBI this March 27. The bandit, who wore a costume with a cheap imitation beard to hide his identity from security cameras, was identified as Gerardo Orozco Lopez of Half Moon Bay, CA. FBI spokesperson Gina Swankie reported the 28-year-old carried a weapon, but she refused to speculate that his crime spree was a result of his java jones for more Badbeard's Coffee.

While a man may go to great lengths to support his Badbeard's Coffee habit, Orozco just took it too far.

Expecting a motherload tomorrow (Wednesday, Jan 15) of stuff including new offerings from Sulawesi (Toraja Grade 1)...sweet, spicy and fragrant and an outstanding Sidama Shilcho washed process, fruity love very akin to some of my recent Yirgacheffes. More Colombia Narino Peaberry to shore up the stash...y'all are cleaning me out, especially in Portland! Thanks!----sincerely, "Heisenbeard"

Colombia on special at Markets of Choice

by badbeard 11. January 2014 23:26

The Colombia Narino Peaberry in the multi-roast profile is on sale at all 8 Markets of Choice in Oregon thru January 24th. It's a really nice single origin espresso at a 27 second pull at 200 degrees. I've been gluttonously drinking it every morning in my Bona Vita dripper for a week now, love it!

We disavow any affiliation with The Badbeard Bandit!

by badbeard 17. December 2013 06:02

What happens when coffee sales fall and Badbeard goes bad? He starts robbing banks! Well, we haven't reached that level of desperation yet, but apparently Northern California banks in and around Sacramento are being targeted by a mysterious robber sporting a truly heinous beard as a disguise, who local news organizations have dubbed "The Bad Beard Bandit". And while the bandit has not produced a weapon in any of the robberies, police consider him armed and dangerous. While the banks have not revealed how much booty the bandit has made off with, we know he's not there for the free coffee.

The FBI is requesting assistance in locating the suspected Badbeard wannabe...but we think he just needs to switch to decaf.

No, he is not affiliated with Badbeard's Coffee!
