Aricha is back! Fruit bomb number two of the season, even juicier than the offering from 2 years ago. Our Gelana Abaya natural is all gone but we're thrilled to have yet another exceptional Yirgacheffe taking its place in the rotation. Sumatra Takengon Mandheling from the family-owned and -operated Jagong Mill, nice sweet notes of butterscotch, chocolate and leather unique to the region.

Champing at the bit awaiting the new Colombia Cafe Granja La Esperanza Pacamara Honey process...a superb exotic. From my new fave rock-star producer in all of South America...devilishly rich coffee. Also new/Late Harvest Brazil OurCoffees "Sugar", an extraordinary cup for the $$$, reflective of just how intense a single-origin espresso can become with the right beans. C'mon down to the Badbeard's online emporium.

You will soon see the Rwanda and Burundi offerings on the website, but if you have any serious or passing interest in the vicissitudes and technicalities of coffee production in East Africa, I urge you to read this excellent piece by my friends Thompson Owen and Chris Schooley.

We have choco-nutty-fruity new Late Harvest Brazils from OurCoffees (Copermonte Cooperative in Minas Gerais)..."Sugar" and "Dry", the latter more reminiscent of Central America and Africa. The popular Clever dripper will be out of stock until the end of this week of November 17. We are bringing in the Holland-made Filtropa #4 paper filters for the Clever or your favorite cone dripper. These babies are in our opinion superior to the standard #4 Melitta or Melitta-clone filters...better construction and negligible paper taste, and hold up better if you do a "pre-rinse" before adding your ground coffee.
