Last year we very much enjoyed the natural process coffees produced at the newish (began in 2015-6) Kisinga Washing Station,
which was built by local Kyagalanyi Coffee Ltd under the aegis of our trading partners Genuine Origin. The washed version here
comprises SL14 and SL28 varietals(of Kenyan agronomic roots) grown by smallholder farmers at a dizzying 2100 meters.Located 25km
southwest of Kasese, the Kisinga Washing Station was built in 2015 to explore the full potential of Rwenzori's arabica coffee and
to support farmers improving their yields, profits and subsequently their living conditions.
Today, Kisinga Washing Station is improving quality by paying farmers more than double the price they would receive for drugars.
And the proof is in the cup; Kisinga is winning awards for both its washed and natural processed coffees. Uganda and neighboring DR Congo
have always had great coffee growing conditions and as significant monies pour in to improve agronomy and infrastructure, we are
excited to offer javas that at their best rival powerhouse Kenyas and Ethiopians in quality.
This is a vibrant pourover in our light-medium roast with showy notes of blackberry, dark chocolate, maple syrup and turbinado sugar.
