NOTE: All of our premium Arabica coffees are roasted to City+ to Full City roasts, showing minimal-to-no surface oils….we want all of the flavor to stay in the beans until the coffee is ground! Despite the additional descriptors, the first flavor and aroma you'll think of is "COFFEE".

A new category for coffees beyond the pale!
Our first installment comes from Yemen, an origin of great importance and tradition in the coffee world. Al Qafr is a district within Ibb, where the Muslot Family tradition continues with Ali Hibah Muslot's daughter, Fatoum, and the impressive coffees she spearheads using Hawari landrace varietals. Grown at high elevations between 1900-2500 meters with de facto organic husbandry, the ripe cherry is completely sun-dried on the rooftops. Bean size is quite small, yet action-packed. There is little doubt that Yemeni coffees like this one evince tremendous cup character at any roast level, from extremely fragrant light roasts to unctuous dark ones. We're going somewhat into the darker tones, dropping just before the start of second crack. As straight espresso the chocolate, buttery and sweet stone fruit notes emerge. In drip and French Press there's an explosion of marshmallow, peach, cocoa nibs. Just fabulous, and in available to the roasting community in very small quantities!

Also for the month of July 2020 we have the lusciously exotic Colombia Natural Process Gesha from our friends at Finca La Suiza in Alto La Paz, Chinchina, Caldas Department. Last year we offered the washed version of this microlot from producer Carlos Arturo Adolphs Garcia, and the dried-in-the-cherry natural process is even more intense in its sweet, fruity and chocolatey palate. Natural process Gesha has been consistently the highest-scoring in international and Best of Colombia competitions in recent years...see and taste why! A light roast to bring the full flavor and aromatic spectrum to your pourover.

"Hi, I want to tell you that my son (lives in Corvallis,OR) loves your coffee! He drinks the Ethiopian Yirgacgeffe and calls it his"crack coffee" because he just has to have it. He jokes that y'all must put crack in it because he's addicted to it."
