NOTE: All of our premium Arabica coffees are roasted to City+ to Full City roasts, showing minimal-to-no surface oils….we want all of the flavor to stay in the beans until the coffee is ground! Despite the additional descriptors, the first flavor and aroma you'll think of is "COFFEE".

Honduras Organic Guama Danta

Country of Origin: Honduras

Despite the mountains of negative press we receive in the news about tiny Honduras (it's less than half the size of Oregon) it remains one of our favorite coffee origins, with tastes quite distinct from its bordering neighbors Guatemala, Nicaragua and El Salvador. Honduras produces almost as much coffee as Ethiopia, which is ten times its size!
This washed process Guama Danta, USDA certified organic, is a smallholder community coffee from the Comayagua region, which has many diverse microclimates ideal for agricultural production. It is "SHG" ("Strictly High Grown") designated
as the farms range in elevation from 1250-1550 meters. Especially during the last 15 years, growers have diversified the varietals and introduced native strains like Lempira and IHCAFE90 into the more tradition bourbon-family hybrids Caturra, Catimor and Catuai.
This is a sweet coffee with nice body in pourover, and we're currently assessing the darker roast profile for its chocolate nuttiness. Milk Chocolate, Brown Sugar, Caramel, Orange, Red Apple are prominent notes in the light-medium standard roast.
 1 lb. bag $15.95 lb.
