Over many years Badbeard's has trotted out a vast number of Ethiopia natural process coffees as we fell they are without peer for fruity goodness, balance, finish and consistency. Current arrival is new to us, from Yirgacheffe and the industrious folks running the Chelelektu mill (which also does wet processing). Smallholder farms in the Gedeo Zone for this central operation are producing heirloom varietals at between 1850-2150 meters in Luvisol soil. Highly sorted for quality, officially Grade 1, and dried full natural in the fruit on raised African beds. A wonderful poourover experience evincing floral aromatics,, strawberry, apricot, honey and blackberry notes in the cup…very rich and sweet. Another Yirgy winner!
