NOTE: All of our premium Arabica coffees are roasted to City+ to Full City roasts, showing minimal-to-no surface oils….we want all of the flavor to stay in the beans until the coffee is ground! Despite the additional descriptors, the first flavor and aroma you'll think of is "COFFEE".

Located in the Eastern province, Manafwa is one of the seven Districts in the large Mt. Elgon region, home to most of Uganda's best Arabica coffee (they produce an excellent Robusta as well). Second in E. Africa after Ethiopia, Uganda is the world's eight largest coffee producer, and has a bustling agricultural sector. High elevations, lush rainforest and conscientious producers make it a player with a huge upside.
Our recent faves from Mt. Elgon have been from Kapchorwa district, but this Manafwa is a winner, too. The Manafwa Washing Station handles about 300 smallholder farms and has a 95% red cherry policy, assuring highest quality rendering of SL14 and SL28 varietals (originally developed in Kenya in the 1930s by Scott Laboratories. Elevations are between 1600-1800 meters.
Solid cup notes of almond, dark chocolate and dried apricot abound in this light-medium roast profile. We like it best as a pourover/drip.

looking for waldos
Badbeard checks for Waldos.
"Just had my first cup of the Terruño Nayarita Natural you were kind enough to send me, for which, thanks. What lovely stuff! Nicely rounded body with a smooth top, and a bottom that lays gently on the tongue. The overall balance is beautiful. The flavor of this stuff is, I think, too delicate to go into a blend without losing its essential character, and should, in my opinion, be offered only as a straight single origin. In short, it was well worth [the] wait."
