NOTE: All of our premium Arabica coffees are roasted to City+ to Full City roasts, showing minimal-to-no surface oils….we want all of the flavor to stay in the beans until the coffee is ground! Despite the additional descriptors, the first flavor and aroma you'll think of is "COFFEE".

Sumatra Wahana Estate (Sidikalang) Coffee
TIP: You can save products to your favorites list if you log in
The super-rich, volcanic loam soil of the northern sector of Sumatra has long been the most-prized source region for coffee cultivation. Wahana Estate, near the town of Sidikalang (along the shores of Lake Toba)is a large, privately-held estate/plantation comprising over 250 hectares of cherry production and 100 hectares of protected natural forest. The estate also has a mill facility, composting factory, free health clinic and farmers' support center, which offers shade trees, organic fertilizer, coffee seeds, and farm management training for small producers in the region. Production is principally of the Bourbon, Typica and Catimor varietals grown at an average of 1250 meters above sea level, wet-hulled and sun-dried. Sweeter than most coffees we've tried from this region, less herbaceous than most and displaying a happy marriage of low-acidity and spicy, floral top notes. Single origin espresso material at our medium roast profile!

andrea with the goods
Business partner/roaster/barista extraordinaire Andrea Spella has the best espresso in Portland. When we acquired "Rossalina" we knew we were in for an extraordinary ride together.
"Badbeard’s Microroastery (badbeardscoffee.com), operated by Portland Cello Project co-founder Justin Kagan, is slightly better-known, having entered the game in 2006. But no other roaster has produced a Maker’s Mark-infused blend for Portland band Weinland, and that hipster cred counts for a lot."
