Organic Peru Bagua Grande

TIP: You can save products to your favorites list if you log in This wonderful coffee is a newbie in the offerings, and happy to see such strong seasonal (Aug-Sept ‘13 harvest) South American coffees flowing. The mountainous Amazonas region of NW Peru is predominantly rainforest (close to 75%), and of ancestral relevance to the ancient Incan Empire. Bagua Province is the epicenter of agricultural activity, and coffee flourishes under the lush tropical canopy.
This Organic- and Fair Trade-certified coffee comes from the Bagua Grande Coffee Cooperative (CACBGL) and is roughly 80% Typica and 20% Caturra varietals grown at an average 1500 meters. Indicative of the care is the shipping from origin in GrainPro and jute bags.
Body is round and deep, notes of vanilla, nuts and snuff. Very rich...drip preparation recommended here, especially Hario V60 or Bonmac. A bit bright for single origin espresso but still satisfying as such.
