NOTE: All of our premium Arabica coffees are roasted to City+ to Full City roasts, showing minimal-to-no surface oils….we want all of the flavor to stay in the beans until the coffee is ground! Despite the additional descriptors, the first flavor and aroma you'll think of is "COFFEE".

Sometimes a cupping table yields amazing and delightful surprises, and such was the case a couple weeks ago when Jen Hurd of our partner/importer Genuine Origin presented an anonymous mix of Perus, Colombians, Ethiopians. Yukro, an Ethiopian WASHED microlot from a relatively new Jimma Zone co-operative, fooled most of us with its high-notes of berry and citrus and chocolate; most of our natural process Ethiopia coffees cup this way. Really delish, strong notes of strawberry and raspberry with a sweet finish. The Kata Muduga Multi-Purpose Farmer's Co-Op was formed in 2016 and comprises 550 members, mostly smallholder farmers. Elevations are quite high…1970-2200 meters above sea level. After pulping in the eco-friendly (low-water use) Penagos machines, the coffee is fermented for 12 hours and then dried on raised beds for 9 to 11 days. Sorting is quite meticulous from the look of the green which arrived here a few days ago. A great debut! Hope to work with this group for years to come! Pourover best to experience this light-medium roast, but makes awesome espresso all by its lonesome.

"I went to a fabulous concert at Mary's Woods yesterday. Imagine my surprise that the person I get my best coffee from was delivering such beautiful music. Then the memory that the first time I tasted your coffee was a batch you'd contributed to the Portland Columbia Symphony Orchestra, and were supporting the community in so many ways. What a wonderful life you have created for yourself."
