Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Natural Process Gelana Abaya

Indigenous heirloom cultivars are grown on small, family-owned farms in the Gelana and Abaya woredas (districts) at high altitudes, between 1800 and 2000 meters, in the far Southwest (Borena Zone, specifically) of Ethiopia. Ripe red cherries are fastidiously picked and sorted and immediately placed on raised beds which have been carefully constructed to ensure proper air circulation and temperature control for an optimal drying process. After they have dried to a moisture level of about 11.5% they are transported to capital Addis Ababa for milling, bagging and export.
Fruit notes are off the charts…strawberry, kiwi, cherry, lime, chocolatey too! Very complex cup and while some might find it overpowering as espresso, we love it!
