Our experiences with the prestigious small-holder developer and exporter Nigusie Lemma group in Western Ethiopia has been awesome. Even more striking is the fact that this coffee is milled by legendary Abdullah Bagersh of Idido Misty Valley fame! The natural-(dry-)process coffees from the mill are among the cleanest and defect-free we've ever seen from Africa, and an indicator that the Direct Trade Specialty traders have gotten around the restrictive ECX (Ethiopia Coffee Exchange)with a vengeance. We can't imagine this coffee becoming part of a larger, nondescript parchment lot...it's too special! The body is great; thick and creamy. We are doing a lighter roast profile to highlight the abundant fruit notes. The recently-offered Nigusie Lemma Djimma sold out so quickly we felt it necessary to bring in this fab coffee ASAP! I'll be ordering some Weinmark soon because I've been looking for someone who has naturally flavored bourbon beans. I'd like to see you extend that to rum as I think that would work well also.
