Ethiopia Lekempti Grade 3 natural

TIP: You can save products to your favorites list if you log in Natural (dry) process coffees from the Lekempti region, Wollega province situated some 6 hours (250 km) west of the capitol Addis Ababa, are prized for their dense layers of dark fruit and chocolate notes. Grown between 1500-1800 meters above sea level, our offering of this predominantly Longberry varietal is tightly-structured and at it's City+ roast level really starts opening up aromatically six or seven days after roasting. After much disappointment looking this crop cycle for a nice, juicy Harar offering, I went searching for a natural process substitute for espresso blending. This coffee was a great revelation as a single-origin espresso, however, and has proved to be a strong, heady drip coffee on its own as well. The fledgling ECX or Ethiopian Coffee Exchange is still evolving, problematically, and we are finding that some excellent offerings are arriving here much later than "normal". In the past, July-August shipments were common after harvest and rest of milled green coffee. Some of the prized stuff this cycle is scheduled for December delivery now, and we will be updating frequently when we get our mitts on 'em!
